Open Water Scuba Diving Certification Course

Intro 

A scuba diving license has two levels:

-The Open Water Certification (OW) is an entry-level autonomous diver certification for recreational scuba diving, limited to dive within the depth of 18 meters

-Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD) is a recreational scuba diving certification level, limited to dive within the depth of 30 meters.

This time we will bring you OW certification class by United Divers Inc. The course is broken into two parts-  a weekend of academic and pool sessions, followed by a weekend of open water dives. This course is open to everyone ages 12-100+ (12-17 with parental consent), and will enable you to dive down to 60 feet (18 meters).

 Course 

The course is broken into two parts-

1. a two-day of academic and pool sessions

2. a weekend of open water dives

The Academic&Pool：The course meets for a full two weekdays(Tuesday, Thursday) 4-10pm at United Divers and drives the four students in a van with the equipment to the pool for about 1 hour, as the COVID-19 the MIT pool is no longer available and we change to the private pool at New Hampshire.

Requirement before the class:

All students are required to

-Go to the United Divers to complete the registration in store process ONE WEEK BEFORE the class. (size for gear& require video watching)

-Complete the online academic online class prior to the start of the class.

-Complete a swim evaluation that includes treading water for ten minutes

-Completing a 200-meter swim with no time limit

NO REFUND for OW pool session if students don’t feel well.

Ocean Dive Weekend: Following the completion of the academic/pool sessions, you will be certification dives on weekends but are able to accommodate any schedule, via private instruction. (6 students each open water dive trip starting from September)

4pm Meet at United Divers- Class Session (Sullivan Station, Orange line)

5:15pm Arrive at the Pool at New Hampshire

5:30pm Swim Evaluation and Pool Session 1, gear to be issued

7:00pm Break for drinks and food

7:30pm Pool Session2

9pm Leave the pool

10:15pm Return the United Divers for rinse the gear

10:30pm Done for the day

4pm Meet at United Divers- Class Session (Sullivan Station, Orange line)

5:15pm Arrive at the Pool at New Hampshire

5:30pm Pool Session 3, gear to be issued

7:00pm Break for drinks and food

7:30pm Pool Session4

9pm Leave the pool

10:15pm Return the United Divers for rinse and disinfect the gear with 3 solutions*

11pm Done for the day

Disinfect the gear with 3 solutions. Due to COVID-19, the United Divers still provide equipment like mask, snorkel, fins & boots, but students must be responsible for deep cleaning them for extra 25 minutes after the use of the pool session and open water session.
